Mack’s family, in a post on her Instagram, said, “It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go. Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother, Kristen, and steadfast aunt Karen present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express.”

“Kelley’s Caringbridge link in her bio includes the 2-page formal announcement with information on her upcoming life celebration in Ohio on August 16th. She would want you all to know how much she loves you. And as her sister, I want you all to know how brave that tough SOB was, especially when she decided to make the leap to be reunited with God. I’m so fucking proud of her,” the post further stated.

Kelley Mack's career and acting projects
Mack played Addy in five episodes of AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 9 (2018-19). In the finale, she and 10 other characters were abducted by the Whisperers, leading to deadly consequences. Her credits also include guest roles on TV shows like 9-1-1, Chicago Med, the Modern Family spinoff Schooled, and multiple miniseries. She appeared in feature films such as Broadcast Signal Intrusion opposite Harry Shum Jr., Mr. Manhattan, and the upcoming Universal.
Kelley Mack made her film debut with The Elephant Garden (2008), for which she received an Acting Award from Tisch School of the Arts for her role as Chloe, according to Deadline. The film also won the Student Visionary Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
She lived in Los Angeles for the past 11 years, working in film, TV, commercials, and doing voice-over work. Mack provided the voice match for Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy in the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. She also produced several short films, including A Knock at the Door (2016), which won the Festival Award at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival and received two nominations at FilmQuest.
Mack served as executive producer on Universal, an upcoming feature by writer-producer Stephen Portland in which she also stars. She wrote, directed, and edited the 2015 short Positive and was the cinematographer for the 2014 short The Kingdom.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on August 16 at the Glendale Lyceum in Glendale, Ohio. The family is also planning a celebration of her life on a later date in Los Angeles for her friends and colleagues in that region.
