The Voice Season 28 premiere: air time, coaches, and where to watch NBC's singing competition

NBC's Emmy Award-winning musical competition series The Voice returns for Season 28 with premiere episodes Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23. The show airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on NBC.

The Voice Season 28 premieres with a two-hour episode Monday, September 22 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on NBC, followed by another episode Tuesday, September 23. Episodes become available to stream on Peacock the following day.

"Be on the lookout for Monday episodes on Peacock starting Tuesday," according to NBC Insider. "Tuesday episodes will start streaming Wednesday on Peacock."

The Voice coaches return for Season 28 competition

Country superstar Reba McEntire, hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé and One Direction alum Niall Horan return as coaches for The Voice Season 28. All four coaches are Voice veterans seeking to discover "America's next singing phenomenon."

Bublé, McEntire and Horan have each won at least one season of The Voice during their coaching tenure. Host Carson Daly returns for his 28th consecutive season hosting The Voice.

New Carson Callback rule enhances Voice auditions

Carson Daly receives expanded authority through a new "Carson Callback" rule during Blind Auditions. According to NBC Insider, the Carson Callback allows Daly "to bring back an Artist who got no chair turns and give them another opportunity to vie for a spot in the competition."

The Voice Season 28 competition format and prizes

Aspiring musical artists compete in The Voice Season 28 through Blind Auditions, Knockouts, and Live Shows. The winning artist receives a $100,000 prize and recording contract with Universal Music Group.

"Fans can expect a brand-new season of awe-inspiring Blind Auditions, jaw-dropping Knockouts, and emotional Live Shows, all building up to one Artist being crowned the next champion," NBC Insider said.

The Voice episode schedule through October

From September 22 through October 14, The Voice Season 28 airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on NBC. The Voice episodes stream on Peacock the day after their NBC broadcast.
