'The View' gets cease and desist letter; Whoopi Goldberg apologises for comments. This is what happened
'The View' show has recently witnessed a tense atmosphere. It is one where opinions are never held back. This sometimes leads it to trouble, like in this case where Whoopi Goldberg had to apologise for her comments.

'Turning Point USA' is a conservative group, which caters to college and high school students. While discussing, Joy Behar accused Ron DeSantis of doing nothing about the group of Neo-Nazis, who were camping at the event. He also said that whatever happened was like "something the Goebbels did during the Third Reich."
Afterwards, there was a disclaimer given by 'The View' stating that the Neo-Nazis present at the event had nothing to do with it. Whoopi Goldberg remarked about the statement, “But you let them in, and you knew what they were.”
'The View' was then asked to read another disclaimer. However, the issue did not end there. Veronica Peterson, a representative of 'Turning Point USA', sent a letter to the show.
The news of the cease and desist letter broke, and Whoopi Goldberg offered an apology while being on-air. She apologised for her comments made on the show. She had also expressed regret earlier, when backlash ensued for her comments.
She said she dislikes assumptions made against her and shouldn't have done the same to the organization's members when she linked them to the Neo-Nazi demonstrators.
Although 'The View' show has not been created for political matters and controversies, it has led to several disclaimers and more over the years.
