The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3: Conrad or Jeremiah — Who will Belly end up with? New teaser reveals release date and what to expect

The Summer I Turned Pretty will return for a third and final season this year. The teen romance, based on Jenny Han’s bestselling trilogy, follows Belly’s emotional journey. The show’s renewal for the third season was announced last year in August.

Prime Video has officially announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty will return for its third and final season this year. Based on Jenny Han’s trilogy, the third season will follow the storyline of We’ll Always Have Summer. In the finale season, Belly faces her choices between Conrad and Jeremiah.

The renewal was confirmed on August 3, 2023, ahead of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The production of the show began after the resolution of labour negotiations. Moreover, season 3 will feature 10 episodes, which is more than the number of episodes in its previous seasons.

What to expect in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3

Season 3 of the show will pick up from the conclusion of Belly’s junior year at university. She will be seen in a relationship with Jeremiah while preparing for another summer at Cousins Beach.

However, a life-changing twist brings Conrad back into her world. This situation forces Belly to face her unresolved feelings and make a defining choice.

The teaser, which dropped on April 24, gave a glimpse of upcoming tensions in Belly’s love life. This is cleverly soundtracked with Taylor Swift’s Daylight and Red. This shift in music echoes Belly’s inner turmoil of choosing between ‘burning red’ passion with Conrad versus the ‘golden daylight’ steadiness with Jeremiah.

Returning cast and new faces

The fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty can look forward to the return of the main cast members in the upcoming season. Lola Tung will be reprising her role as Belly, Christopher Briney as Conrad, and Gavin Casalegno will feature again as Jeremiah.

Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, David Iacono, and Jackie Chung will also be reprising their roles as Steven, Taylor, Cam, and Laurel.

Additionally, Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher, who played the roles of Aunt Julia and Skye in Season 2, could likely return for Season 3, according to a Hollywood Life report.

Even though Rachel Blanchard’s Susannah passed away in season 2, she could return in flashback scenes since her character has emotional significance to the story.

Will Season 3 follow the book ending?

Season 3 certainly will mirror what happens in We’ll Always Have Summer, but series creator Jenny Han said that there may be some straying.

Fans of the book might have an idea of how things will end, but Han said she is looking to surprise and please the viewers, while also balancing the expectations of fans with the creative direction of the show.
