'The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse' release date on Netflix: When will sequel series premier?

"The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse" is all set to make a debut on Netflix in January 2024. In October this year, the social accounts of Netflix had confirmed that the new sequel series will stream on the OTT platform.

Before Netflix had put the release of the movie on its platform, there were speculations that the series may not be streaming on Netflix. It may be mentioned that Four Knights of the Apocalypse was featured at the Anime Japan 2023. During the event, in presence of Netflix, a new teaser along with the cast members was released. Despite that there was no mention of the animated series.

The animated movie, which is a sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki and produced by Telecom Animation Film. Notably, The Seven Deadly Sins was initially animated by A-1 Pictures and later it was shifted to Studio Deen.


The third film of the franchise – Grudge of Edinburgh – was animated by Alfred Imageworks and Marvy Jack, thus taking it to five different animation studios that have worked on the franchise.

For many years, Netflix had been a home to The Seven Deadly Sins as a franchise. The platform distributed the main season that streamed for five seasons from 2015 worldwide and soon after took the exclusive rights to Cursed of Light in 2021 and Grudge of Edinburgh Parts 1 and 2, released in 2023. Netflix also has the exclusive rights non-exclusive distribution rights to Prisoners of the Sky in the US.

According to the plot of the movie, the story takes place after the disbanding of Britannia’s most infamous team of Holy Knights. A young boy named Percival learns about the prophecy of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse, a group of warriors destined to destroy the world that he is fated to join. During his journey, Percival is targeted by forces of Camelot, ruled by a darker King Arthur Pendragon. He sets out to find the other members of the Four Knights of the apocalypse, where he is joined by Lancelot, a Liones knight and the son of Ban, the former Seven Deadly Sins holy knight of Greed.
