'The Sandman' Season 2 release date, cast: What we know so far

"The Sandman" season 2 is currently under production and will have three new characters. The new characters will join the group for a life of adventure and suspense. The new characters are Esme Creed Miles who will play the character of Delirium, Adrian Lester will play the character of Destiny and Barry Sloane will play the character of "The Prodigal". This series has been adopted from Neil Gaiman’s comic series. These new characters will add more to the existing drama, as per a report on Collider.

The existing characters are: Tom Sturridge as Dream, Kirby as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Donna Preston as Despair. These are the main characters.

The other characters include: Patton Oswalt, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Jenna Coleman, Razane Jammal, Asim Chaudhry, Stephen Fry, Ferdinand Kingsley, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Vanesu Samunyai.


Storyline:
The first season translated the comic which was a dark fantasy comic to life. The titular characters were called dream. The entity had the power to control the entire world’s dreams. However, he found himself in deep trouble after being captured and imprisoned for more than a century. Now, he has to restore normalcy in a chaotic world. He sets off on a mission to undo all the damages that have occurred in his absence. While restoring normalcy, he had to jump across the universe and timelines to achieve the impossible. This is the story of Season 1.

As far as Season 2 is concerned, the storyline is yet to be revealed. However, film critics have noted that there are plenty of stories yet to be showed from the ten chapter series that Netflix is adopting. The addition of these characters will only lend more credence to the upcoming series, even as excited fans keep guessing the storyline.

The series is currently under production. The strike conducted by Writers and Actors at Hollywood delayed the production of this series.
