Production
Benedict Cumberbatch is producing the film under his banner SunnyMarch, alongside Leah Clarke and Adam Ackland. The project has been in development since 2017. Olivia Colman, Ed Sinclair, and Tom Carver are also producing for South of the River. Jay Roach and Michelle Graham are additional producers.

Jonathan R. Adler and Michael Adler, from Adler Entertainment Trust, are executive producers on the film. This project marks the first under their company's two-year first-look deal with Searchlight. Searchlight VP of Production Richard Ruiz and Director of Development & Production Pete Spencer are overseeing the project.
