Fans may have believed Christmas had come early when news of a new box set dedicated to Queen's 1989 album titled "The Miracle" broke last month. Not only were the British rock icons revisiting possibly one of their best albums from the 1980s, but the new collection will finally make available a handful of previously unheard tracks from the sessions—songs that had either been bootlegged or discussed among ardent fans online over the years.

Roger Taylor and Brian May, two members of Queen, didn't hold back while putting together "The Miracle Collector's" edition, which was published Friday.

The super deluxe eight-disc set is a treasure trove which comprises of the album's 2011 remastered version along with B-sides, single and extended versions, alternate takes, demos, and six never-before-heard non-album songs, including the recently released "Face It Alone," instrumentals, radio interviews with Queen for promotion of the release of The Miracle, backing tracks, a DVD and Blu-ray that features music videos from the album along with related featurettes, and a unique vinyl edition of The Miracle that comprises of the track "Too Much Love Will Kill You", which was meant to be included but wasn't because of publishing issues because it wasn't included on the final track list.

The band had been together for approximately 20 years at the time The Miracle was first made available. Queen presented a unified front on The Miracle, not just with their energetic concerts but also by sharing songwriting credit among all four members for the first track ever on a band album. There were perhaps 30 tracks total recorded during the sessions, however only 10 were used for the official album.

"The Miracle" was Queen's most commercially successful and approachable record up to that point. It featured songs like the punishing "I Want It All," which has grown into one of the group's best rockers, the upbeat and unifying title track, the rap-rock mashup "Khashoggi's Ship," the seductive soul tune "My Baby Does Me," the tropical funk "Rain Must Fall," and the classic "Was It All Worth It".
