‘The Lion King’ Concert at Hollywood Bowl: All you may want to know

North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, along with Broadway's Heather Headley and Grammy winner Lebo M., will join the cast of Disney’’s The Lion King 30th Anniversary – A Live-to-Film Concert Event at the Hollywood Bowl on May 24 and 25.

Cast Additions and Performances

North West, Heather Headley, and Lebo M. join Billy Eichner, Bradley Gibson, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and special guest Jennifer Hudson for the musical event. A full orchestra will perform Hans Zimmer’s Oscar-winning score, with performances featuring the Broadway show’s costumes, set design and puppetry.

Production

Disney Concerts, Fulwell 73 Productions, AMP Worldwide, and Live Nation-Hewitt Silva are producing the event, following their success with Disney’s Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl and Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium. The concert footage will become a part of a Disney+ Original special, The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, celebrating the franchise’s 30 years.

Streaming and Future Installments

A streaming date for the event has not been set. The next installment in the franchise, Barry Jenkins’ prequel Mufasa: The Lion King, is scheduled to hit theaters in December.
