"The Last of Us" season 2 is happening as the filming for the HBO video game adaptation is all set to begin in Vancouver.

A photo shared by Zarak by Afghan Kitchen on Instagram, posted by "The Last of Us" News on X, brought together Bella Ramsey, Isabela Merced, and Young Mazino – the actors portraying Ellie, Dina, and Jesse – for the first time. The snapshot also featured executive producer Jacqueline Lesko and series co-creator Craig Mazin, as per a report in Collider.

"The Last of Us" Season 2 is officially set to premiere in 2025, as confirmed by HBO. Filming is scheduled to commence on February 12, 2024, after concerns over industry strikes were addressed.


Confirmed cast members include Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Pedro Pascal as Joel, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Rutina Wesley as Maria, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Isabela Merced as Dina. Season 2 won't feature recasting, ensuring continuity.

Season 2 is expected to follow the storyline of The Last of Us Part II, exploring the fallout between Joel and Ellie. The adaptation aims for multiple seasons, providing a larger scope than the first game.
