HBO has set the release date for the second season of its popular series, The Last of Us. The company announced that the new season will begin airing on April 13. The series is based on the PlayStation video games and follows characters in a post-apocalyptic world.

Storyline

The first season of the show covered the events of the first video game in the series. Season 2 will follow the storyline of the sequel, The Last of Us: Part II. The story is set five years after the events of the first season. Joel and Ellie continue their journey in a world affected by a fungal infection. They will face new threats, including more dangerous infected creatures.

Cast

Several new actors will join the cast in Season 2. Kaitlyn Dever will play Abby, while Isabela Merced will take on the role of Dina. Young Mazino will play Jesse, and Ariela Barer will portray Mel. Other new cast members include Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara will make a guest appearance in an undisclosed role. Jeffrey Wright will return as Isaac, the leader of the Washington Liberation group.

Creators and Directors

Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann continue as executive producers and writers of the series. They also directed episodes in the first season and will do so again in Season 2. Both were involved in creating the original video games.
