The new footage is part of Max's "coming soon" promo. It features Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, discussing past decisions, including saving Ellie from the Fireflies. The preview shows a raid on Jackson, Wyoming and people defending themselves from humans and infected. It introduces new characters like Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, and Dana, played by Isabela Merced. Other actors featured include Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Wright.



Filming

Filming is ongoing in Vancouver, Canada. In May, HBO released images of Joel and Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey. Local fans have spotted game-inspired locations. The production faced delays due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Filming has resumed and is nearing completion. The show's creator, Neil Druckmann, finished his work in Vancouver earlier this month.

Plot

Season 2, like the first, will be based on the games. It will draw from The Last of Us: Part 2, released on PlayStation in 2020. The story will change significantly, especially for Joel and Ellie. A new lead character, seeking revenge, will be introduced.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie. Gabriel Luna returns as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. New cast members include Isabela Merced as Dina, Ellie's romantic interest, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, a soldier seeking vengeance, and Spencer Lord, Tati Gabrielle, and Danny Ramirez as Abby's crew, Owen, Nora, and Manny.
