If media reports are to be believed, Marvel will soon change the title of its forthcoming Avengers movie following Jonathan Majors’ assault conviction. Last year, the Marvel actor was convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Earlier, he portrayed Kang the Conqueror in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'. The next multi-billion-dollar Avengers franchise was set to be titled, 'Avengers: The Kang Dynasty'.

Marvel Studio rewriting script?

'The Hollywood Reporter' has claimed that Marvel Studio is rewriting the script and it will retitle the next Avengers film, which is scheduled to be released in May 2026. However, Marvel Studio or Disney+ has not said anything officially. On its official slate of upcoming movies, Marvel is still still using the 'Kang Dynasty' title.

Jonathan Majors dropped from many projects

After the indictment, the management team dropped Jonathan Majors and the US Army pulled out several advertisements featuring the actor. The creator of an adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel 'The Man in My Basement' also dropped him. Besides, Walt Disney Studios has removed the forthcoming Majors project, 'Magazine Dreams' from its release calendar.

MCU undergoing major changes

It has also been reported that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is undergoing a reorganization of its internal process. It recently announced the cast for its upcoming reboot of the 'Fantastic Four', which will bring those characters into the MCU for the first time.

Marvel Studios may introduce new Avengers 5 title

Reports also suggest that Marvel Studios is mulling the idea of introducing a new Avengers 5 title at Disney's D23 Expo to be held on August 9-11. Earlier, the studio has previewed films such as 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' at D23. It could announce the new title for Avengers 5. It will also give Marvel time to space out big announcements across both SDCC and D23.

In yet another development at Marvel, Pedro Pascal of 'The Last of Us' will star as Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic. Vanessa Kirby will portray Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman and Joseph Quinn of 'Stranger Things' will play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch.
