‘The Fabelmans’ to be honoured by Vanguard Award at 2023 Palm Springs Film Festival

This year, Steven Spielberg’s Semi-autobiographical film, ‘The Fabelmans’ will receive the Vanguard Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival 2023. The film is about a young man discovering a shocking family secret. The plot also explores the power of movies to learn the truth about people and himself. The movie stars Gabriel LaBelle, Paul Dano, and Seth Rogen. Michelle Williams, Robin Bartlett, Jeannie Berlin, Keeley Karsten, Julia Butters, and Judd Hirsch. Tony Kusher has worked along with Spielberg to helm the script.

Others to receive the honor at the Palm Springs Film Festival in January 2023 is Michelle Yeo. She will receive the International Star Award, Actress, for her work in the movie ‘Everything, Everywhere All at Once’ by A24. Yeo plays a young immigrant mother.

Spielberg and Yeo will receive the honor on January 5 at the inaugural ceremony which will be held at the Palm Springs Convention center.



Moreover, Cate Blanchett is said to receive the Desert Palm Achievement, Actress at the Palm Springs Festival 2023 for her role in her latest ‘Tar’. The movie recently premiered at the Venice Film festival.

Sarah Polly has been nominated for the Director of the Year Award for her work in the latest feature 'Women Talking'. She is joined by Collin Ferrell, who is nominated for the Desert Palm Achievement, Actor, for his lead role in 'The Banshees of Inisherin', directed by Martin McDonagh.

Palm Springs will be rolling out the rest of the Nominees in the days leading up to the event, which will commence on January 5.
