Netflix Japan claimed on Twitter that the makers of the anime have used AI-generated artwork as there was a shortage of labour in the industry. The streaming platform in Japan is facing immense criticism over the development.


Netflix, in a tweet, posted that as an experimental effort to help the anime industry, which is facing a labour shortage, we used image generation technology for the background images in all three-minute video cuts!

People on social media are not happy with the OTT giant’s justification. The move has led to immense criticism on the internet from artists as well.

The streaming platform has been slammed by many users, who claimed that it was trying to avoid paying human artists and justified the move by saying that there is a shortage of talent, as per media reports.
