Disney has previously stated that it will release a combined app by year's end that would bring together content from Hulu and Disney+ into a single experience.

Now the wait is finally over as the CEO of Disney said that next month, the software will go into beta testing in preparation for a wider public release.

Iger stated at the time that while the merger wouldn't go as far as combining everything onto a single platform, it was marketed as a means of slightly simplifying life for Disney+ and Hulu users.

The new partnership would also benefit The Mouse House in terms of ad revenue. Disney just redesigned their subscription options, offering subscriptions for both streamers for a significantly reduced price, so it's definitely not a disadvantage.

Disney hasn't provided an update on the combined app experience up until now, but Iger gave investors confidence on the call by saying, "We remain on track to roll out a unified one-app experience domestically." With the official launch now scheduled for Spring 2024, he believes the beta will allow customers to configure their profiles and any parental controls in advance.
