The attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, has denied allegations of fleeing home to avoid a subpoena in a case over abortion rights. As per court documents obtained by Texas Tribune, Ken Paxton avoided interaction to testify at a hearing in a lawsuit related to abortion rights.

Why did the Attorney General allegedly flee his home?

A non-profit organisation and abortion rights group had filed a lawsuit related to a case to help Texan citizens pay for out-of-state abortions in the wake of SC’s decision overturning Roe vs Wade. Ken Paxton was ordered to be present during the court hearing.

According to process server Ernesto Martin Herrera, when he went to hand him over a subpoena for a court hearing, Paxton’s wife told him that he was in a hurry and could not come to the door. A few minutes later, he came out of his home and avoided interaction with Martin. Angela Paxton followed him, and they both left in the same car.
