Lifting an Amber Alert, the Pennsylvania State Police have stated that the abducted Reading girl was found safe in Brooklyn on August 31.

Earlier, the police had issued an Amber Alert after the girl, Janae Kalia-Henry, was kidnapped in Reading City at around 2 am on August 31.

The 13-year-old girl was found safe in Brooklyn about 15 hours after she had gone missing. The police informed about the safe recovery of Janae Kalia-Henry through its official Twitter account at around 7 pm on August 31.

As per the police, the man who kidnapped Janae Kalia-Henry traveled to Brooklyn after abducting her. The girl was not wearing shoes at the time when the police found her, said officials. However, it was not clear whether Janae Kalia-Henry suffered any injuries.

While informing about the case, Richard Tornielli, the Chief of Reading Police, stated that they had developed some 'investigative leads,' which led them to the location where the kidnapped girl was kept.

A male suspect was taken into police custody in New York City. The suspect has been identified as Dwayne Taylor by the police. Taylor is 47 years old and has been booked for kidnapping, aggravated assault, burglary, and other related offenses. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter as the motive of the kidnapping is yet to be ascertained. Besides, how the male suspect knew the girl is also not clear. Nonetheless, the police have confirmed that there was some connection between the girl and the suspect.
