Swifties, if you’ve been searching YouTube for the extended “Opalite” music video and coming up empty, you’re not alone. Taylor Swift has officially released two expanded cuts of the visual, but they’re not available everywhere.

Each extended edition runs just over nine minutes, beginning with the full ‘90s-inspired “Opalite” video before transitioning into behind-the-scenes footage from the set, as per a report by USA Today.

Where can you watch the extended ‘Opalite’ videos?

Both extended versions are streaming only on Apple Music, Spotify Premium, Tidal and Amazon Music. They are not available on YouTube, as per a report by USA Today.

Instead of a YouTube launch, the singer rolled out both extended versions exclusively on Apple Music, Spotify Premium, Tidal and Amazon Music. It mirrors her original strategy when the video first premiered on paid platforms on Feb. 6 before landing on YouTube two days later.

What happens in the extended version 1?

In the first cut, Swift reflects on the creative process, saying, "For like a year, I was like what would I do for the 'Opalite' video?" The idea gained momentum after Domhnall Gleeson mentioned wanting to appear in a Taylor Swift music video. Within a week, she emailed the cast a complete script.

The video shows Swift filming with a handheld camera and rehearsing with choreographer Mandy Moore, who also created moves for the Eras Tour and “The Fate of Ophelia.” Swift also reveals she kept the disco dance competition a surprise from Gleeson. When he asks about their characters’ ending, she responds, "No, I definitely think we're in love but we're best friends in love."

What’s different in the extended version 2?

The second extended cut opens with Swift recalling a mall shoot with Lewis Capaldi, who jokes about being "destined" to be behind the camera. Viewers see Jodie Turner-Smith’s aerobics scene, Greta Lee’s indie rocker performance, and Graham Norton praising how closely filming followed Swift’s detailed treatment.

Swift explains she personally wrote the shot list and selected every frame. After one take, she claps and says, "That's the one," as per a report by USA Today.

Four ‘Opalite’ remixes released

Beyond the extended videos, Swift also dropped four remixes of track 3 from “The Life of a Showgirl,” collaborating with Chris Lake, BUNT., Skream and Ely Oaks. Four CD variants are available on her website for $2.99 each, a staggered release strategy she’s used before to extend a song’s momentum.
