Taylor Swift opens up on awkward auditioning for 'Les Misérables' with Eddie Redmayne. Here's what she said
Taylor Swift has opened up about "Les Misérables" audition where she was asked to try for street urchin Éponine which involved painting her teeth brown.

While on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, the White Horse singer said that she had a nightmarish experience as she was supposed to have brown teeth while talking to Redmayne.
Taylor Swift was on the show last night to promote her latest album, 'Midnight'. She was accompanied by Eddie Redmayne, who appeared to promote his recent release, "The Good Nurse" Revealing their first meeting, Swift said that the producers of Les Misérables wanted her to try for the street urchin Éponine, which meant she had to have her teeth painted brown.
When the producers informed her that she’d had to meet Redmayne with her costume, including the brown teeth, it became a nightmare for her. Swift said she kept mumbling during the audition for not revealing her "pearly browns" in front of one of her favorite actors. Redmayne, though, donned a tracksuit for the audition. The critically acclaimed actor said that he had pizza and garlic dough balls just before meeting her and didn’t want to breathe garlic on her.
Les Misérables was directed by Tom Hooper, who thought Swift didn’t come across as a person society would ignore. However, he casted the popstar in Cats (2019), which was based on the stage musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, but it turned out to be a commercial failure.
