Turkish Airlines shifted six economy seats to make place for the tallest woman in the world, who is now travelling for the first time. Rumeysa Gelgi, whose 7ft height is included in the Guinness Book of World Records, took the 13-hour voyage aboard Turkey's flag carrier. She is the tallest woman alive.
The 25-year-old typically uses a wheelchair to get around since she has Weaver syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes fast development.
She was able to board the trip from Istanbul, Turkey, to San Francisco, California, when the airline converted six other seats into a stretcher for her.
Gelgi wrote about the journey to her 19,500 followers in a social media post. This was her first flight, but she assured everyone that it wouldn't be her last. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who had helped her along the way.
