Taemin postpones North American leg of his world tour over US visa issues: What we know about new dates and refunds

South Korean singer Taemin has postponed his North American leg of his World Tour scheduled to be performed at the Bay Area because of ongoing uncertainty surrounding US visa issues for a ‘significant number’ of production and touring staff.

The scheduled October show, part of LiMiNaL's world tour, will be rescheduled, and the artist’s team said more details will be released once the rescheduling process is complete. The Korean K-pop star was going to play on October 12 at the SAP Center, San Jose, and more, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Newark, New Jersey, and Grand Prairie, Texas, till 23rd of the month.

“Given the continued uncertainty surrounding the participation of essential personnel, we determined that proceeding with the tour as scheduled would carry significant operational and production risks,” a notice shared by the singer’s official X account on September 29 reads.



Since his team is rescheduling the entire North American Tour dates, regarding refunds, they said it will be issued “through the original point of purchase,” before apologizing to American K pop fans.

The 33-year-old singer began his musical career as part of the boy band Shinee at just 14. During that time, he was acting and voicing characters in animated films.

His first solo performance and release of the studio album titled “Press It” was in 2016. The album has one single which is co-produced by Bruno Mars.

His career has grown immensely with time and he performed for the first time at Coachella in 2026 by a Korean male solo performer. His single titled “Move” has approximately 138 million streams on Spotify.

Visa related problems for foreign artists have grown in recent years. Hypocrisy, the famous Swedish death metal band, recently had to cancel its performance at the Warfield in San Francisco on August 21. Another band from the United Kingdom, called Enter Shikari, had to cancel their October 6 performance at the Independent, saying, “visa issues that look extremely unlikely to be sorted.” Then FKA twigs had to call off their performance last year’s April at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
