Quincy Cho is joining the series as a Writers’ Room Assistant and will also write her first episode. Anderson praised Cho for her script and contributions. This marks Cho’s debut as a credited writer on television. The writers’ room has been working for months in preparation.

Production

According to the Writers Guild of America, Michelle Denise Jackson will serve as supervising producer. Kale Futterman will take on the role of executive story editor for the upcoming season. These assignments show the team’s structure is in place and ready to proceed.

Filming Location and Schedule

Season 5 will mostly be filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. This has been the main location for all previous seasons. There is no confirmation yet on filming in New York. In season 4, Maddie shared plans to move to New York, which might influence the new season’s scenes.

Filming is expected to begin on June 2, 2025. It is scheduled to run until September 17, 2025. These dates may shift, depending on production needs. If the schedule holds, the show is expected to return sometime in 2026.
