USDA Recommendations

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has recommended avoiding bees which often nest in areas including pipes, holes, and cavities within trees. It has recommended certain guidelines. These include:

If bees attack, one should run fast toward an enclosed shelter like a vehicle or building. Pull your shirt over your head and protect your face.

It is dangerous to swat at bees as they are aggravated by movement. Crushed bees emit a smell that attracts other bees.
