The F1 drivers have delayed talks over the safety incident during the Japanese Grand Prix race. After its investigation regarding the safety and calls made on the day the incident happened, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) released its report and wanted to talk to the drivers about the findings. But the drivers dismissed the talk over the time pressure of the race.
Within two weeks, the FIA started investigating the safety processes and decisions made on the day Max Verstappen ultimately prevailed in a truncated and occasionally hilarious race in the Japanese Grand Prix.
The FIA released its Suzuka report ahead of practise for this weekend's race in Austin. Its main conclusions were that race control officials made the wrong decision to send the cranes out to recover Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon's stranded cars because they lost track of Pierre Gasly's AlphaTauri and that Gasly drove recklessly.
