South Korea is known for adapting cosmetic procedures for a long time and now the same fever is gripping the United States after the pandemic, says NY Post.

According to a recent report by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the demand for plastic surgery, image enhancement operations and other cosmetic procedures have surged by a significant 5% in the year 2023, with the trajectory likely to increase in the coming years. Based on stats, it can be assumed that the cosmetic procedure demand may jump again by a whopping 7% in the US by the end of the year.

'Ballet Body': Physique enhancement now a popular cosmetic procedure in US

Popular cosmetic procedures in the United States include physique alteration including a type called 'ballet body', where a lean-looking physique, like a ballet dancer is developed using artificial methods. According to medical experts at the American Board of Plastic Surgery, using cosmetic procedures has now become a trend in the US nowadays. The doctors also said that post the pandemic, people have approached doctors with a bid to look athletic and slim, rather different from the pre-pandemic demands that included liposuction surgeries and others.

Liposuction and breast augmentation among top in-demand cosmetic procedures across US

The top 5 artificial procedures that were in demand last year included liposuction, the demand for which, was up by 7%, followed by breast augmentation, that saw an increased demand of 2%, abdominoplasty (up by 5%), and blepharoplasty (up by 5%), according to a report by NY Post. The stats suggested that almost 1.6 million cosmetic procedures were performed last year, with the numbers expected to grow significantly this year as well as the next.
