The full moon Supermoon will occur on Monday, July 3, 2023. The time will be at 7:39 am (ET), when it will be at its peak. To view it, look towards the southeast after sunset.
The size difference between a Supermoon and a usual full moon is not seen through the naked eye. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the Supermoon in July 2023 will be brighter and closer from Earth at 224,895.4 miles (361,934 kilometers).
The July Supermoon is also known as Buck moon, because the month is when male deer grow antlers as part of an annual cycle of shedding and regrowth.
