'Superman' Henry Cavill to play key role in Marvel movie? What we know so far

Henry Cavill, known for his 'Superman' role in DC film "Man of Steel", is likely to be part of Marvel Studios' new venture, as per reports.

Dexerto reported quoting a scoop social media account, 40-year-old Cavill has 'accepted' an offer. The development has led to speculations among fans and a number of potential roles have emerged. These are -- Captain Britain, X-Men's Cyclops, Sentry, and Doctor Doom.

However, neither Cavill or his associates nor Marvel Studios commented. This means there is nothing officials and ongoing development must be perceived as usual but strong rumours.


Earlier in February, Henry Cavill-starrer 'Argylle' was released. It is a twisty thriller starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell and Cavill. The movie was badly dinged by critics, who gave it a Rotten Tomatoes score of 35 per cent 'fresh'. Ticket buyers also gave it a thumbs down, with a C+ CinemaScore, as per an AP report.

Apple has paired with traditional studios for each of those releases. Universal Pictures handled the rollout of 'Argylle', which opened in 3,605 North American venues and took in an additional $17.3 million in 78 international markets, AP reported.
