Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for detective drama 'Sugar', ahead of its release next month, reports 'Collider'. The eight-part series narrates the story of a private investigator and explores the city of Los Angeles as the detective uncovers the secrets surrounding a high-profile disappearance case.

The trailer opens with Farrell's character John beginning an investigation of the case related to Olivia's disappearance. But contrary to his earlier assumption, things get darker as he gets closer to the truth.

An official synopsis of the series reads, "Academy Award-nominee Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel."

According to 'Collider', 'Sugar' will debut globally on Apple TV on April 5, 2024, when its first three episodes will be released together. Its new episodes will be dropped every subsequent Wednesday for the remaining five weeks.

Farrell has described his character as “a keen observer of human behavior.” He also said there is nowhere more fascinating in so many different ways in the world than this city. He called the series kaleidoscopic.
