Students in Florida school hospitalized after eating Marijuana gummies, Furious mother mulls pressing charges after gummies leave her daughter ‘shaken’; check details
Five students fell ill at Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale after consuming marijuana gummies. They were rushed to the hospital, feeling dizzy and disoriented. One mother is furious, considering pressing charges. The school district confirm...

The incident left the mother of one of those students, who accidentally ate a marijuana gummy candy, furious, as her 14-year-old daughter became sick after eating a marijuana gummy candy at school as part of an incident. She was also rushed to a nearby hospital.
The incident took place during the morning hours when Tshura Jones’ daughter and four other students at Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., were taken to a local hospital after consuming edible marijuana gummies, according to Local 10 News, WSVN, and local NBC 6.
Jones is mulling pressing charges
While speaking during interviews, Jones said that her daughter was misled and “drugged” by another student who gave her the gummy and said she is considering pressing charges against the student she claims provided the edible. “I don’t put anything past any child, but the bottom line is she was drugged,” Jones told WSVN. “I’m going to press charges,” she added.
In an interview with Local 10 News, the sick student's mother vented out her frustration on her daughter’s high school, saying that the school placed her daughter on a 10-day suspension for consuming the drugs at school. “I feel as though I left my daughter in the hands of Stranahan High School for safety,” the girl’s mother told the outlet.
“I used to work in a rehab facility,” Jones said. “I know fentanyl and these drugs; she could’ve had that, and that would’ve been it for my daughter. Why bring drugs into a school? You come here to learn.”
Jones’ daughter describes incident
After Jones’ daughter was rushed to the hospital, she claimed that she was given an IV and appeared unresponsive. “She didn’t know how she got there,” Jones said. According to WSVN, the teenager was “shaken” from the experience.
"Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the school after several students appeared to have an adverse reaction to ingesting gummies. Out of an abundance of caution, five students were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation,” the Broward County Public School District said in a statement to PEOPLE.
