It is going to be a sky gazer's delight today as the full moon will illuminate the sky, terming the event as Strawberry Supermoon. The June 2022 full moon is the second of the year's four consecutive supermoons, with the full moon falling on or near perigee, the moon's closest proximity towards the Earth in its usual cycle. The full moon of this year will rise early on June 14, at 23.3 degrees, much above the Southern Horizon. Full Moon Timings
As per the reports, the Strawberry Supermoon is set to appear at 7:51 a.m. EDT (1151 a.m. GMT). However, viewers can enjoy seeing the full moon during the day and post the exact event.

What makes this full moon special?


To begin with, this year's full moon is the second among the four consecutive supermoons, and it will seem somewhat more significant than a full moon at its greatest distance from Earth. According to NASA forecasts, this full moon is said to be significantly brighter and more prominent than usual. Casual viewers, on the other hand, are unlikely to detect the change.

How to see the Strawberry Supermoon?
The mesmerizing celestial occurrences will likely be enjoyed by stargazers online for free. The Virtual Telescope Project in Italy will host a free live broadcast of the Strawberry Supermoon today. It will begin airing at 3:15 p.m. EDT. When the full moon rises above Rome, the live telecast will begin.

The name 'Strawberry Supermoon' comes from a variety of places and times, including European, Native American, and Colonial American sources. The name stems from wild strawberries being ready for plucking around June in North America.
