When did filming begin?

Netflix planned to begin filming 'Stranger Things' Season 5 in 2023, but the strikes by the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA forced it to delay it. After the strikes ended the showrunners announced to begin the series. Netflix announced on January 8, 2024, that the final season had gone into production.

Release Date

Finn Wolfhard said that 'Stranger Things' Season 5 may arrive in 2025 and he would be 22 by that time. Though the shooting of the sci-fi series was begun after the SAG-AFTRA and the WGA strike ended, they were further delayed by the busy schedule of the lead actor, and the elaborate visual effects in the edit. So, it was expected that it may come in the second half of 2025 or 2025 or early 2026.

Wolfhard told 'The Hollywood Reporter' in March 2024 that the film has been only three months in production and it will take at least nine more months to complete. So, it can be said safely that the 'Stranger Things' Season 5 would not arrive in 2025.
