Starfield: Shattered Space Expansion: Release date, cost, gameplay, story and trailer

Bethesda has confirmed that the Starfield: Shattered Space expansion will launch on September 30, 2024. This expansion, which was revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live, brings new storylines, locations, enemies and gameplay features.

Release Date

During the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, Bethesda officially announced that Shattered Space, Starfield’s new DLC, will be available on September 30, 2024.

Cost

Players who purchased the Digital Premium Edition of Starfield for $99.99 will automatically gain access to the Shattered Space expansion upon its release. Those who wish to purchase the DLC separately can expect to pay $29.99 for the expansion.

New Locations, Enemies

Bethesda has confirmed that the Va’ruun’kai planet, featured in Shattered Space, will offer over 50 new locations for players to explore. One such area, Dazra City, becomes a safe haven for inhabitants escaping the planet’s dangers. However, players will also face threats from factions, such as the Crimson Fleet and the Spacers.

New enemies, including the Redeemed and Vortex Horrors, will make their debut in this expansion. These enemies spawn from a tear in space-time.

Gameplay

Shattered Space will introduce improvements to combat, particularly in close-quarters fighting. Bethesda has also hinted that players will be able to craft new grenades using organic materials found in the game world.

The story of Shattered Space will center on House Va’Ruun, a theocratic faction in the Settled Systems. Players will investigate a distress signal that leads them to uncover the secrets of the Great Serpent, the deity worshipped by this group.
