Stardew Valley's creator, Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, initially kept all the information related to upcoming update 1.6 under the wraps. However, a recent social media post has indicated that the upcoming 1.6 update for Stardew Valley might have more surprises in store than the creator initially revealed.

In a VGKami interview in late 2021, he mentioned not having any further update plans for the beloved farming sim. However, much to the surprise of fans, he later hinted at a 1.6 update earlier this year.

During the initial teaser, creator Barone mentioned that the update would primarily focus on providing improvements for modders and would only include a modest amount of new in-game content compared to the substantial changes in update 1.5.

Game maker ConcernedApe tweeted on July 17 about the upcoming Stardew Valley update 1.6 revealing several exciting additions in the works, including a new festival, new items, more dialogues and secrets to be unveiled.



However, the tweet also contained a mysterious element denoted by a string of three question marks, leaving players intrigued about what surprise awaits them. As of the current date, the developer has not disclosed any details regarding this enigmatic addition.

Interestingly, an earlier cryptic tweet from Eric Barone in May hinted at a potential upgrade for the Scythe. The tweet simply mentioned "iridium scythe," leading players to speculate that the Scythe, which is the only in-game tool with upgrades that stop at "Golden," might finally receive an Iridium upgrade.

There's no official word on release date, so quoting any date right now would just be an assumption.
