Starbucks to replace iconic paper cups with reusable ones

As kids, we all have always been fascinated with Starbucks at some point in time. Now that Starbucks' white paper cups are going out of fashion, we should not be sad because these cups are being replaced with reusable ones. This is the company's move towards gearing for a sustainable movement and protecting the planet. Starbucks is trying out different plans in different countries.

The main attraction of paper cups is what always draws customers, especially the red holiday season designs. So, by bringing Starbucks reusable cups, this is going to change. However, according to Starbucks, the paper cups will not be taken entirely off the shelf. Instead, they would be made less attractive.

Reasons for bringing the revolution of reusable cups


On the company's website, Michael Kobori, Starbucks chief sustainability officer, officially said that bringing the trend of using reusable cups is their aim of becoming a resource positive company. They are trying to eliminate waste and cut half their carbon, water, and waste footprints.

Starbucks' "Borrow A Cup" programme also promotes this cause. This program allows customers to bring their cup, and later, it's cleaned by professionals for other customers' use. A variety of programs are run in different places to promote sustainability.

In the Starbucks news, the company publicly announced that by the end of 2023, the one-time-use cups would be replaced by Starbucks reusable ones; these will be available to customers in Canada and U.S.

The old iconic Starbucks cups are likely to become less common.
