Starbucks brings back PSL early and a sweet new twist with Pecan Oatmilk Cortado

Starbucks menu: For many, fall doesn't begin when the leaves change color, it starts when Starbucks brings back the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and that time has come. Starting on Tuesday, August 26, the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) officially returns to Starbucks stores across the United States, and there’s also something new in the lineup: Pecan Oatmilk Cortado, according to Starbucks.

Starbucks' Fall Starts Early with the Return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte

The coffeehouse chain launched the Pumpkin Spice Latte over two decades ago, which drove a global cultural phenomenon, and instantly became "Starbucks most popular seasonal beverage of all time," as per the company.

PSL is made using real pumpkin, along with Starbucks Signature Espresso, seamed milk, cinnamon and nutmeg, and is also topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices, as per Starbucks. The drink is available in three options, hot, iced or blended.

More Pumpkin Favorites Return to Starbucks Fall Menu

Even the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew will be back this fall, which is made with Starbucks Cold Brew sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice, according to the Washington-based company.

Another 'fan-favorite', which is the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte, will also be available across the United States. This beverage is inspired by customer and barista customizations, this creamy fall beverage has a "rich blend of spiced chai notes with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice," as per Starbucks.

Starbucks' New Star: Pecan Oatmilk Cortado

This year, Starbucks fans have more reasons to be excited as along with the Pumpkin range of beverages, they will also be able to have the new Pecan Oatmilk Cortado.

The firm had introduced the flavor of pecan to the fall menu last year, as it pairs "perfectly with espresso and it quickly became a fan favorite," as per Starbucks. This fall, Starbucks has launched the Pecan Oatmilk Cortado, which is made by combining "three shots of Starbucks Blonde Espresso with notes of pecan, rich brown butter and holiday baking spices and steamed oatmilk, it is then sprinkled with a pecan crunch topping and served hot in an 8-ounce cup," according to Starbucks.

Patrick Penny, lead beverage developer for Starbucks, said that, “The saltiness and browned butter notes combined with the toasted pecan flavors are the perfect complement to the Cortado’s bold espresso base,” adding, “When paired with creamy oatmilk, the pecan balances the vibrant, rich flavor notes of Starbucks Blonde Espresso,” as quoted by Starbucks in its press release.

Starbucks Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte Is Also Back

Starbucks also said that the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte will be back, which is made using "Starbucks Blonde Espresso, oatmilk, notes of pecan, rich brown butter and holiday baking spices," adding that "The iced version includes a layer of vanilla sweet cream cold foam on top," as per the press release. The company also said that customers will be able to add a pecan twist to any iced beverage by customizing it with Pecan Cold Foam.
