‘Star Trek: Picard’ star Annie Wersching passes away at 45
Annie Wersching, known for her roles in TV series such as "Bosch," "24," "Star Trek: Picard," and "Timeless," passed away at the age of 45 on Sunday morning in Los Angeles.

The news of her passing came to light from her publicist, Craig Schneider. According to the publicist, the cause of death is said to be cancer. Schneider confirmed via a statement on January 29, 2023.
He pointed out that Wersching, who was diagnosed in 2020, continued her acting career despite her health condition. She portrayed the Borg Queen in the second season of "Star Trek: Picard," a spinoff on Paramount+, and the serial killer Rosalind Dyer in the ABC crime show "The Rookie."
Wersching was also recognized for her roles as Julia Brasher, a police officer on Amazon's "Bosch," and Emma Whitmore, an engineer on NBC's "Timeless." On Fox's "24," she portrayed special FBI agent Renee Walker. Additionally, she voiced the character Tess in the 2013 video game "The Last of Us," which has been adapted into a TV series on HBO.
Wersching’s husband, Stephen full, mourned the death of the 45-year-old actor and said in a statement to CNN, “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today,” He goes on to add, “But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you.”
According to Full, whenever he and his sons would leave their home, Wersching would loudly say "Bye!" until they were out of hearing range. He added, "I can still hear it ringing. Bye, my Buddie”, according to his statement.
Akiva Goldsman, an executive producer of "Picard," expressed his sadness in a statement released on Sunday, calling Wersching a "gift" and a "utter joy" to work with. He said that the entire "Star Trek" family was heartbroken by her loss.
Director and producer of "24," Jon Cassar, also expressed his condolences in a statement, saying he lost both a colleague and a friend. He remembered Wersching as having an open heart and contagious smile, and added that her talent took his breath away. He concluded that she would be deeply missed.
