In addition to the returning cast from Star Trek: The Next Generation, season 3 of Star Trek: Picard will introduce a new character, Alandra, who is the daughter of Geordi La Forge. The real-life daughter of LeVar Burton, Mica Burton, is playing Alandra.

The trailer for the upcoming season also gives viewers a glimpse of the enigmatic villain Vadic, portrayed by Amanda Plummer, whose father Christopher Plummer famously played Klingon General Chang in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

The trailer also teases the return of some familiar villains, including the sociopathic android Lore and the sinister Professor Moriarty hologram. The third season of Star Trek: Picard premieres on February 16, 2023, with new episodes to follow on Thursdays until April 20, 2023.
