Stanford University's 105-year-old woman student returns after 83 years to become graduate. Why did she leave campus?

Stanford University student, who was enrolled in 1936, has returned after over eight decades to get her graduate degree at the age of 105, as per a report on Fox News.

Virginia Hislop was awarded the master's degree in education 83 years after her enrolment after checking her eligibility.

Stanford's Graduate School of Education dean Daniel Schwartz revealed that Hislop was granted the degree after met current graduation requirements, as per the Fox News.

After her enrolment in 1936, Hislop earned bachelor's degree in education in 1940. Subsequently, she started teaching but at the same time she continued to pursue the master's degree.

However, Hislop decided to leave the campus during the World War II with her lover who eventually became her husband.

Her husband was in the army after the his retirement, Hislop settled with her two children and spouse in Washington's Yakima.

Hislop's tryst with education spanned more than eight decades she was involved with state, municipal and county-level schools.
