STALKER 2 is scheduled to release on November 20, 2024. The game was initially planned to launch on September 5, 2024, but a delay was announced on July 25, 2024. Developers explained that the additional time would allow them to fix unexpected anomalies, commonly known as bugs.

Platforms

STALKER 2 will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be accessible through Steam, the Epic Games store, and as a Day One Game Pass title. However, PlayStation 5 players will not have access to the game at launch. There is no information on whether it will be released on Sony’s platform in the future.

Gameplay

On August 13, 2024, a Developer Deep Dive video was shared on YouTube, offering a closer look at STALKER 2's gameplay. The 35-minute video featured discussions from the creative team, focusing on the game’s seamless open world, which includes 20 distinct regions. The majority of the showcased gameplay took place in The Swamp environment, where the protagonist, Skif, is on a mission to reach the Clear Sky base, home to one of the in-game factions.

Storyline

STALKER 2 builds on the original game, offering a non-linear story where player actions determine the fate of The Zone. The game is set 20 years after the Chornobyl disaster, with increasing activity in the area.
