Spurs pip Warriors in closely-contested NBA Western conference series final

The San Antonio Spurs sealed a close win against the Golden State Warriors with a final score of 114-111. The three match series of the 2024-25 NBA season Western conference final on April 10, was held at the Chase Centre in San Francisco, California.

The series finale between the two teams ended 2-1 in favour of Spurs.

Spurs’ Harrison Barnes sealed the win with a three pointer at the buzzer. In a dramatic end to the game, Draymond Green of the Golden State made two free throws levelling the game 111-all after being fouled by Barnes, with 3.1 seconds left in the game.


Jimmy Butler of the Golden State scored 28 points with 13 being scored in the fourth quarter. Stephon Castle made 5 assists for the Spurs, while Draymond Green made 8 assists for The Warriors.

With 11 seconds left in the game, Keldon Johnson of the Spurs, made a go-ahead layup, levelling the game and scoring 21 points. Stephon Castle also scored 21 points for the Spurs.

The game leaders of the match were Keldon Johnson of the Spurs, who scored 21 points with 8 rebounds. Stephen Curry of the Golden State scored 30 points and Draymond Green for the Warriors scored 9 rebounds.

This was only the second victory for the Spurs in their last 10 games. San Antonio Spurs, who rank 13th in the Western conference, made this consequential win against the Golden State who rank 7th and now this loss could affect the Warriors in securing a top-six playoff spot and entering the play-in tournament.

San Antonio Spurs face the Phoenix Suns on April 12, while the Golden State face Portland Trail Blazers.
