Spotify down? Downdetector data shows significant Spotify outage in US. Here's error message, company statement, outage regions and when will it be back up

Spotify outage has been reported in the US as several users have complained that the music streaming service is down on September 29, as per outage-tracking website Downdetector.com. More than 15,000 users in the US and 19,000 user globally have faced disruptions in the Spotify service. The sharp rise in the issues has been witnessed a few minutes back.

An error message 'something went wrong' was shown when users tried to listen to music on the service. Spotify seems to be facing a huge outage is several regions across the world, as per Downdetector data. The problems began just before 10am in New York or 3pm UK time.

Spotify statement and when will it be back up?

"We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!” Spotify said on its official page on X. The company did not give any information about the problem or by when it might get fixed. The service also does not have an official status page on its own website.

Spotify mobile or desktop users face issues?

Some users found errors on the mobile version of the app while no problem was witness on the desktop. Some users faced difficulty in searching for artists but were able to listen to songs. The Spotify app accounts for around 59% reported problems, the DownDetector's global data shows.

Around 21% reports were linked to audio streaming. It shows some users faced troubles while playing or streaming music. Meanwhile, 13% reports were related to server connection. It shows that connectivity issues were also faced by users. As per Spotify, it has around 800 million users and 300 million of them pay for a monthly subscription. The music streaming service is also available in 184 countries.
