Sportage owners in US have to be careful with possible engine fires, warns KIA motors
Kia Motors has warned all the owners of the small SUV Sportage in the US to park their vehicles outdoors as a precaution against engine fires.

The Korean automaker confirmed eight cases of fires and fifteen instances of melting in the Sportage since April 2017. However, no injuries were reported, the company added. Earlier cars manufactured in the years 2008 and 2009 have been recalled for fire risk in the hydraulic engine control device.
Meanwhile, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (of the US) posted a piece of precautionary advice on Wednesday. It says that fires in Sportage engines can start not only when in running condition but even when they are switched off. As a result, most of the 72000 plus owners are seriously concerned and seeking the company's guidance to avoid untoward incidents.
