Kia Motors’ troubles with their small SUV model, the Sportage, are not over yet. Once again, the company has advised about 72,000 owners of older SUV models to be careful about engine fires. As a precaution, the car should be parked outdoors and away from structures. The company will notify the respective owners individually by a letter starting on December 22.

The Korean automaker confirmed eight cases of fires and fifteen instances of melting in the Sportage since April 2017. However, no injuries were reported, the company added. Earlier cars manufactured in the years 2008 and 2009 have been recalled for fire risk in the hydraulic engine control device.
