‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’: Sony’s film earns $17.35 million on preview night, 2nd highest for animated movie

Sony has reported that ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ has earned $17.35 million on its preview night which is also the second-highest for an animated film. ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ earnings on preview night come next to 2018’s ‘Incredibles 2’s $18.5 million.

Disney’s pivotal 20th Century Studios’ PG-13 horror film ‘Boogeyman’, directed by Rob Savage, from Hulu to the big screen earned $1.1 million. The film is booked at 3,205 locations and received 74% Rotten Tomatoes verified score.

‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ preview night collection is 4.5 times more than the earnings of 2018 animated movie, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse’ collected on its Thursday night, which was $3.5 million before it earned $35.5 million opening in three days.


Despite the preview night earnings, it is too soon to level ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ with ‘Incredibles 2’ as the latter earned $712 million on its first day with 26% of it on preview night. The Pixar movie collected a record of $182.6 million on its opening weekend.

‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ was made on a budget of $100 million and is a sequel to the 2018 animated movie, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse’ which collected approximately $400 million globally. Miles Morales returns to the big screen with ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ which hit the theaters on June 2. Miles, by Shamiek Moore, reunites with fellow heroes Spider-Gwen by Hailee Steinfield and Peter B. Parker by Jake Johnson. It is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K.
