Fever, missing Clark due to a left groin injury, fell to 2–4 without the WNBA Rookie of the Year. Kelsey Mitchell paced the Fever with 20 points. Indiana led by 10 in the second half and entered the fourth up 58-50, but were outscored 26-9 down the stretch.
A crucial five-point sequence in the final minute - highlighted by Stevens converting a put-back and a three-point play after Dearica Hamby’s missed free throw - sealed the win for Sparks, extending their lead to 82-75 with 49 seconds remaining.
Plum, who had a quiet start, ignited in the fourth, scoring seven straight points in just over a minute to give Sparks a 69-66 lead. She came into the game ranked fourth in the league in scoring.
The Sparks opened strong with a 9-0 run, but Fever battled back to lead 19-18 after one. Despite a scoring drought that lasted over six minutes in the second quarter, the Sparks trimmed the deficit to 34-30 at halftime.
The Fever visit Dallas next on Friday night, with Clark’s status still uncertain.
