S&P 500 (Mini) futures stood at 6,552, falling 109.5 points from the prior close of 6,538.76. NASDAQ (Mini) futures were at 24,073.75, down 648 points from the index’s closing level of 24,054.38.
This comes after Wall Street stocks fell on Thursday in a sharp reversal from an early rally, as technology gains faded after a boost from Nvidia's earnings and U.S. jobs data muddied the labor market outlook. As of the close on November 20 at 4:48 PM ET, NVIDIA Corp. was trading at $180.64, down $5.88, or 3.15%, for the day.
Nvidia’s impact might have fizzled out, but Walmart was able to keep gains, rising around 6% on Thursday. The American multinational retail giant saw stronger-than-expected sales and revenue for its fiscal third quarter, partially due to its e-commerce business’ growth. As of November 20 at 3:57 PM ET, Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) was trading at $107.24, up $6.63 for the day, representing a 6.59% gain on the NYSE.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 386.51 points (0.84%), closing at 45,752.26, after climbing more than 700 points during the session. The S&P 500 slid 1.56% to finish at 6,538.76, despite gains of up to 1.9% earlier in the day.
The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.16%, ending at 22,078.05, down from a session-high advance of 2.6%. As of the close on November 20 at 4:48 PM ET, NVIDIA Corp. was trading at $180.64, down $5.88, or 3.15%, for the day.
