South Carolina's primaries for the 2022 elections will take place on June 14, with voters filtering the Democratic and Republican candidates before the election campaign on November 8.

In South Carolina, voters can support any party's primary because the state does not require registration status. The booths will be operating between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on each of the following nine weekdays from May 31, Tuesday, to June 10, Friday. However, there will be no voting on weekends. The voting will restart from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on election day, June 14.

Early voting process same as election day

Early voting is conducted at all county voter registration and elections centers and other locations designated by counties. The voting procedure will be similar to the usual one on election day, where all the voters are required to present their photo IDs, such as a military ID, driver's license, or passport. All counties must have a minimum of one voting station for early voting. However, they are permitted to have up to seven stations.

Things you need to know about the primary elections
Those who need to vote absentee will be able to do so with the new early voting option by mailing their ballot in before the election day deadline. For absentee voting, voters must first get an absentee ballot application from their county voter registration office by telephone, post, or in person, and then complete, sign, and submit the form to their local voter registration office via mail or in person.

New forms with additional requirements will be available soon, but old forms will be accepted until May 31. Also, the last date to submit your application is June 3.

The voter's oath must be signed, and the return envelope must be verified. For the June primaries, there are no modifications to the witness requirement. Changes to the law regarding witness requirements will enter into force in July.

Voters who return their ballots in person will be required to show a photo ID.

To ensure timely delivery, ballots submitted by post must be mailed no later than one week before election day.

For individuals who have not opted for early voting or absentee-by-mail options, voting booths will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on June 14.

Early voting will be offered from June 22 to 24 at the same hours and locations for any required runoff elections for the June primary.
