Sony reveals PlayStation plus free games lineup for October 2026

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus game selection for October 2026, offering subscribers three different titles covering Formula 1 racing, monster-focused extraction gameplay and cooperative voxel-based shooting.

The October lineup will be available on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and members can claim the games for around one month, through Nov. 2, as per Push Square. The selection has titles for PS4 and PS5.

F1 25 Brings Formula 1 Racing

The first game in the lineup is F1 25, Codemasters' latest Formula 1 racing title. The game was released last year and obtained an 8/10 from IGN.


The game is available for PS5 and gives a choice for players who are interested in the latest entry of Codemasters' long-running Formula 1 series.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 Adds Extraction Action

Next is Hunt: Showdown 1896. A first-person extraction shooter which is developed by Crytek. Players will get into a dangerous setting that is populated by mythological monsters. It includes combat and extraction-focused gameplay.

Its inclusion offers PlayStation Plus members access to one of Crytek's established multiplayer shooters without needing knowledge of previous games in the series.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2

Then the third one is, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, which is provided for both PS4 and PS5.

The third-person shooter supports local and online cooperative play. Its narrative follows events in the voxel-based Earth after the first installment, offering together brothers from various parts of the world to confront a new enemy and an increasing threat to the planet.

Together, the three October selections cover substantially varied styles of gameplay. Players can opt Formula 1 racing with F1 25, monster-hunting extraction action in Hunt: Showdown 1896, or cooperative shooting in Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2.

With availability starting on Oct. 6 and continuing through Nov. 2, PlayStation Plus members will have the month-long window specified by Push Square to claim the October titles.
