Millions of US citizens will turn on their television sets and open websites on the Internet to watch the total Solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024, that will traverse through 15 states. Beginning in the South Pacific Ocean, the eclipse will be first visible in Mexico, it will move northeast, across states including Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New York before ending in Maine. Its significance for the people living in the US can be understood by the fact that the last solar eclipse visible in the US took place in 2017 and the next visible in the country will take place in 2044.

If you miss watching the cosmic spectacle in person, you can certainly watch it on television sets, websites and social media sites.

NASA

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration will begin two livestreams of the solar eclipse at 1 p.m. ET for free on YouTube and its streaming platform NASA+. NASA+ will have a live feed of the eclipse through NASA's telescope.


CNN

CNN will begin the live coverage of the solar eclipse at 1 p.m. ET. It has already deployed reporters and crew members well-equipped with cameras and across the path of totality.

CNN will also make it available for live streaming on Sling TV.

ABC

ABC will air its special program "Eclipse Across America" on its channel and National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Disney Plus and Hulu as well as network social media platforms.

CBS will broadcast live its specially designed program, "Total Eclipse of the Heartland" featuring astronomer Lucianne Walkowicz, Bill Nye, its News space consultant Bill Harwood and William Shatner.

PBS

NOVA will host an eclipse live stream on YouTube that will feature NASA scientists at the Kerrville Eclipse Festival in Texas.

Disney+ and Hulu

Disney Plus and Hulu will stream their sibling network ABC's "Eclipse Across America," starting at 2 p.m. ET.
