Donald Trump and former US President Jimmy Carter.
Jimmy Carter, a former US President, passed away at the age of 100 and set a record for being the longest living US President, which will definitely take some time to break. However, that was not all that history will remember him for, other than his legacy. After Carter's death, President Biden issued a proclamation that US. flag will be displayed at half-mast at the White House, on public buildings and grounds, and even in naval vessels for a broad period of 30 days.

If the timeline is referred, these 30 days coincide with Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony on January 20, 2025. On this day too, US national flags at the ceremony will be flying at half mast, something that has created a social media wildfire, with many claiming that Carter, an ideological opponent of Trump, 'had the last laugh'.

Many also said that it would be a stark reminder for Donald Trump's second Presidential tenure, and people will be reminded of Carter's legacy, even though it is a Republican President being sworn in, someone who has occasionally taken some strong digs at Carter. Some even thanked President Carter for his 'final act of service'.
